Military Gilet

Hiya, haven’t posted a while so thought I would share one of my latest buys with you. This one is from New Look, (finally something not from Zara) I love this, I’d had my eye on it for a while, thought it would look great with shorts and my floral dr martens. But we’ll see in the summer how that one goes.

I love the detail of the badges on this, it’s quite urban cool. The thing I do love most about this is that it doesn’t really fit into any trend. Don’t get me wrong I do love to have things that are on trend but it’s worth having a couple of pieces that don’t fit in. Less likely to see people wearing it too.

The hood to this does actually fold away if you don’t want to have it out. The drawstring around the middle that pulls it makes it feel slightly more girly. I have tried it with both a casual and a more dressy outfit. It works both ways which is a massive bonus.

Hope you like.

Cheetah Nails

Ahhhh so excited about these. They took me so long and was all done with the wonders of a toothpick. I see a step by step thing for them the other day and had to try it. I’m thinking they’ll look amazing with a coral base, I will confirm that when I get the one I want from Topshop.

Takes a long time but I would recommend them to anyone who wants to do them. I was going to leave it as one day hence the bottom photo just showing 1 nail with the cheetah print. Got too excited though.

Hope you like these.

Hiyaa,

Thought I’d share this one with you, I like the crowded-ness of this pattern, but thats why it is only on on nail. Plus it takes a long times. Hope you like.

Superman + Floral Nails

If you read my preious post you’ve already seen the floral nails, did this on one hand and gave up, so I’ve decided to combine it with the superman nails I love so much. As you can tell by now I’ve really got an obsession with the blue ‘AWOL’ colour from Topshop. So here it is. superman + floral all wrapped in one. Not much else to say, if you want to know how I dont the floral one refer to my previous post ‘Flower Nails’.

Flower Nails

So I found a blog with floral nails on the other day, and had to try it myself. It takes a lot of time as a warning. I had to try this with a few different colours before I found one I like, I tried around 9 combinations.

This is the one I’m going with, in the spirit of the Jubilee and all. I went with the same way that the Fashionistas Picks went with. I wont try and take the credit for myself, this was all her idea. It’s done with a kirby grip/bobby pin. I just dipped bobbled end onto the brush to get a small amount of nail varnish on and blobbed it on. Hence why it isn’t the neatest nail you’ve seen. But it will do until I’m in the mood to prefect it.

I hope this makes you want to try it and if you do, let me know please so I can have a look.

Spotty Nails

Just to stay on the polka dot theme that I seem to have going on, here are my latest nails. As mentioned in my previous post ‘SupermanNails’ I love the blue nail varnish that I got from topshop, I wanted to re do them with this colour so thought I would add white spots, I keep seeing people doing nails with pastel colours and white dots. Seen as I love this nail varnish so much I thought I’d just add white dots to this, join the trends with a twist, as per.

Not too neat in this picture and the dots didnt work out so well, but you get the jist. A lot of people lately have been asking me how I do it and are quick to disbelieve that I do them myself. I just get the brush from the nail varnish, make sure there isnt loads of nail varnish on there and then blob it on my nail. Nothing to it. Just takes a while, sometimes when I want them to be really neat I will us a toothpick to make sure they dots are more circular.

Hope this makes you want to do it with your nails.

Polka Dot Dress

Another work dress, and yep you got it, more polka dots. Didn’t realise I had a thing for polka dots until I started this blog. Another bargain dress, I found this dress in one the random shops that you get, although I’m sure you can get it in a lot of places now.

This dress is another one that nips in at the waist, kinda comes out slightly, has a little structure to it. The polka dots are a velvet texture which although you don’t get to experience is fun for me. I love the black and white, no mater what pattern it is, as long as it’s monochrome it will always be timeless. Well that is my opinion anyway.

Enjoy

Work Dress

Hello Beautifuls,

Thought  I would share this dress with you, a little different from my usual work wear. This dress was one I spotted in the sale at New Look that I happened to walk past with only 1 in my size… some would say fate. The only downside to this dress is it makes me feel older than I am but I think that’s because it’s more grown up than my usual clothes. I like the floral print and the yellow on black makes it stand out. The yellow is actually really bright. It nips in at the waist which is a winner for me as I have a small waist.

The tailoring on this dress for high street is actually a very good quality. Surprising I know. OK I have split the back of the dress slightly but that’s because I tried to hold open 2 doors at the same time, one with my hand, one with my leg. So that’s my own fault. Might work better though for me to just adjust the stitching slightly and have a slightly longer split.

Anyway back to the point, budget tailoring can be done, and I am starting to stretch out of Zara slightly.

Pink & Black

I read somewhere the other day that you shouldn’t be mixing pink jeans with black as it drains the colour. Well I disagree and just to prove a point, here’s what I wore today, Black leather jacket, Black Dr Martens and my bright pink zara jeans, I think they look just a bright. Feel free to share your thoughts, there is a previous post with the jeans worn without black if you wish to compare.

It can be done, here it is, now and go and put on your coloured jeans with black shoes and a black jacket, have fun whilst doing it.

Lots of Love
